"We believe that all people possess an innate dignity and destiny." These words are part of our Mission Statement and are reflected in all that our Pastoral Care staff does. Our Pastoral Care team includes a Chaplain and several Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, openly assisting all who work and live at St. Mary Manor to understand and be sensitive to the vital importance of meeting spiritual needs of residents, their loved ones and the staff. By their daily ministry they underscore that all people deserve respect and the opportunity for spiritual support and the gift of hope. They respond to anyone who may seek their counsel and are supportive of resident, family and the staff as individuals reach the end of their earthly journey. Here, Mass is celebrated daily. Residents unable to attend Mass are individually visited and ministered to by the Pastoral Care staff. St Mary Manor’s closed circuit television system enables room or bed-bound residents to view Mass and any other celebratory events that may be internally televised. Provision is consistently made for residents to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Anointing of the Sick. A Memorial Mass is celebrated annually for residents who have died during the previous year. Family members, friends, staff and residents are all invited to participate. Often, families will express a preference for the funeral Mass of their loved one to be celebrated in our Chapel. The Chapel at St. Mary is a historical landmark in Lansdale. Dedicated in 1925 by Dennis Cardinal Dougherty, this magnificent structure is a replica of the Cardinal’s titular Church in Rome, the Church of Saints Nereus and Achilleus, which dates back to the fourth century. Visits to our Chapel are encouraged at anytime for solace, contemplation, prayer and peace.
